The small classroom environment encourages a sense of wonder, gratitude and reverence for all life.

 

Through daily rhythms, celebrations and yearly events, an atmosphere of harmony and joy is created. Each child is encouraged to develop a balanced and healthy imagination. Through practice of concentration, visualization, cheerfulness and a serviceful attitude, children expand their sympathies beyond their little selves and learn to recognize the highest qualities in themselves and one another.

Each day, class begins with circle time when they engage in songs, concentration games, yoga and other activities to open the heart, uplift the energy and focus, centering the children within themselves and their hearts.

There is a great deal of both play and work. There are two outdoor recesses daily, one at mid-morning snack, and one at lunch time. Students enjoy participating in skits and an occasional play or musical.

The daily program includes basic educational training in reading readiness, language arts and math. Because our pupils may go on to other schools, we ensure they have the academic skills to excel at their grade level.

Broadening the child's awareness of the world is an important focus of our program. Show and tell and nature study are integral parts of each week's schedule. In addition, the children go on field trips each term…a Dairy farm, the Zoo, Planetarium, a Stud farm, large Factory and rural handicrafts centre.
