LWS RULES

The School approach to behaviour guidance is based on the acceptance of a wide range of children’s feelings.
We offer choices, try to redirect activity, point out natural or logical consequences of different behaviours, help the child individually or in a group to problem solve. We give hugs and words of encouragement.
Respect for each other and the environment is emphasized through the development of social skills such as turn taking, helping and cooperation. Children are encouraged, individually and as a group to generate possible solutions to conflicts, to predict various outcomes and to choose alternative behaviours.
Most school rules relate to health and safety.
Parents are encouraged to discuss any questions and give their inputs regarding classroom and behaviour management with the Teacher and/or Principal.
Sometimes a child may display individual needs that are beyond the scope of our program and/or the expertise of the teachers. The parents will then be advised to seek outside help
UNIFORM
Children wear the School uniform that consists of a Dihika: Living Wisdom School T-shirt in summer, a Sweatshirt and soft cap in winter. The lower half of clothing is left to the discretion of the parents with the expectation that clothes worn will allow full movement and freedom to play. Sensible play shoes are a must.
A full change of clothes for each child including footwear, duly marked and packed in a small backpack, must be kept in the cubbyhole assigned in the classroom.
