Dihika: Living Wisdom School in Gurgaon is committed to implementing the Education for Life™ (“EFL”) philosophy of J Donald Walters.

Intially comprising classes from Playschool through Grade 2 (subsequently moving upward through Grade 5), the school offers a Spirit-centered learning environment expressing universal values with emphasis on personal growth and proven holistic techniques for body, mind & spirit.

Teachers are certified by the Education for Life Foundation after satisfactory completion of the EFL Teacher Training- a series of classes run by the Ananda  University, Nevada City, California- and further trained by seasoned EFL Master Teachers. In the not-too-distant future, a full fledged Education for Life Training Facility will be set up in our Gurgaon School.

The integration of universal truths into everyday schooling helps students manifest positive forms of inner and outer behavior. Learning by doing, with constant feedback from the teacher in such areas as energy control or cheerfulness, helps every student develop the essential attitudes of successful living.

Learning is the natural activity of children! Students who are actively engaged in discovery are filled with joy and an eager expectation for more learning. Hence, when our children are joyful, we know we are succeeding in the goals of the curriculum.

LIVING WISDOM SCHOOLS

The first Living Wisdom School was founded in 1971 by Michael (Nitai) Deranja in Ananda Village, Nevada City, California.

Living Wisdom Schools believe that a child who is given appropriate and self-expansive opportunities to express positive emotions, to exercise the body, and to experience calm, inner awareness, is prepared and eager to explore the world around him: intellectually, scientifically, socially, and artistically.

They make a clear distinction between Religious Education - which teaches specific beliefs and practices of a particular doctrine - and Spiritual Education, which focuses on universal truths common to all faiths.

The Education for Life curriculum springs from spiritual inspiration, professional training, and many years of teaching experience. We see our students as soul companions who need our acceptance, support, training, and love. The spirit of the curriculum is synonymous with the ideals of simplicity, cooperation, and balance— values which form the basis of a happy life.

We seek to nurture and equip each child with the tools of maturity that every human needs to learn and grow: strength of will, compassion and respect for others, knowledge and reason, idealism, and a sensitive appreciation for the indwelling Spirit that unites all life.
